#13 Even though they’re naturally docile and friendly, the Shih Tzu needs early socialization and training. Like any dog, they can become timid if they’re not properly socialized when young.
#14 Like other breeds with short faces, the Shih Tzu is sensitive to heat. They should remain indoors in an air-conditioned room or one with fans on hot days so they don’t suffer from heat exhaustion.
#15 All dog breeds have a purpose. Historically, the purpose of the Shih Tzu was to be a companion–and that’s just what they want to be. They simply desire to be with you.
