#4 Labrador Retrievers were originally bred for hunting
Labrador Retrievers are hunting dogs used for post-shot work, particularly on winged games. Their task was to wait quietly next to the handler, to follow the trajectory of the shot game and, on command, to bring it quickly and safely to its owner. They benefit from their passion for retrieving. Even today, Labrador Retrievers are occasionally used for hunting. They are therefore by no means suitable as pure family dogs without a task but should be employed according to their breed, e.g. B. with dummy training. As a thank you, you will have a happy and well-balanced dog by your side.
#5 Labrador retrievers are very greedy
Almost all Labrador Retrievers have one characteristic in common - they are extremely greedy. This can be both a curse and a blessing in one. It will rarely happen that a Labrador refuses a type of food and this breed can also be motivated very well with treats during dog training. However, because of their gluttony, these dogs also tend to want to eat anything they can find. Caution is therefore required, especially on walks, and the dog should be taught from puppyhood that it must not pick up or eat anything from the ground without prior permission.
