15 Historical Facts About Pomeranians You Might Not Know

#13 Initially, the American Kennel Club did not want to recognize this breed as an independent breed, and took it to the mestizo group. The club in America was opened only in 1909.

#14 It is worth noting that it was on the American continent that the correct name was fixed for the breed – the orange.

The rest, however, mistakenly called the Spitz either German or dwarf. This trend is now less common, although, in the FCI (International Cynological Organization) classification, Pomeranians are still registered under the name "German Spitz".

#15 Now Pomeranian Spitz are regular participants in various exhibitions and events.

Animals delight with their intelligence, perky character, and thick hair inherited from their ancestors. Their compact size, combined with a big heart, make Pomeranians great companions and loyal friends.
