Very dense, composed of straight, medium-hard, short, or medium-length hair. Dogs of both types have a large undercoat, so Corgis should be brushed regularly to keep them clean. This purpose is best served by brushes with very dense, short teeth or furminators. Treating once a week minimizes undercoat in the home. When hair is combed, the frequency should be increased. For bathing, it is recommended to use shampoos that do not soften or lift the coat. Regular baths along with combing will keep their coat clean and thick.
