#7 The breed has a thin, glossy coat that comes in a variety of colors. Mostly the dogs are fawn with dark ears and muzzle, black or dark brown.
#8 Heat stress and heat stroke are extremely dangerous for Pugs.
Due to their very short snout, they have breathing problems, which means that they are less able to cool off in warm weather. It is best to leave your pug in an air-conditioned, cool room. If you don't have air conditioning, run a fan and make sure your pug always has access to fresh, cool water. If you see symptoms like trouble breathing, drooling, vomiting, or diarrhea, call your veterinarian.
#9 The pug’s wrinkles need special attention.
They are breeding grounds for infection when they get wet or dirty. The wrinkles must be dried after bathing and wiped between baths. The Pug is also prone to gum disease – regular dental checks and brushing with a small, soft toothbrush and dog toothpaste will help avoid it.
