The Whippet, according to the breed standard and description, is an example of a harmonious combination of energy and strength with elegance and grace. It’s built for speed and action. However, any exaggeration of forms, the harmony of which is the basis of the international success of the breed, should be avoided.

These pictures and descriptions are very accurate. One thing about Whippets is they love (or want) to spend their time with their family. I always have 2 dogs, but in my retirement I take both wherever I can. They do get lonely. They crave to be loved. If you want to see a sad dog, holler at a Whippet. That is very mean because these dogs are intelligent, large vocabulary, and very very sensitive. Having them for almost 30 years. I love this breed. You have to know how to treat them as they are different, which I love. I love this dog.
Agree…LOVE this breed.
