Until a year and a half, both sexes are indistinguishable in appearance. Only by the age of 3, the "boy" grows adult feathers. It is they who, when opening the tail, make it fabulously beautiful. Green, red, blue tone prevails.

Only the male has a luxurious bright fan-shaped tail. In females, it is unremarkable, ordinary, short, gray.

In India, hunting peacocks is prohibited at the state level. Here the birds are sacred. The Hindus are sure that with their cry they warn of an impending thunderstorm, the approach of snakes and tigers.
