The Anatolian Shepherd Dog is a strong and brave dog that can adapt to any climatic condition. Gets along with children, is wary of strangers. They make good watchdogs. The Anatolian Shepherd Dog is a guard dog of ancient origin, possibly descended from large hunting dogs living in Mesopotamia. Since then, the breed has continued to evolve and adapt to local conditions. The climate (very hot and dry summers, cold winters), the way of life (from sedentary to semi-nomadic and nomadic), and the tasks assigned to the dogs played an important role in this. In any weather, they had to guard the herds of cattle grazing on the central Anatolian plateau and covering great distances in search of food.

Smart, independent, balanced, confident, brave, proud.
Needs a lot of physical activity, is not suitable for living in an urban environment, the coat requires regular brushing.
