Breed Review: Oriental Shorthair (18 Pics)

#13 A common mistake that can negate the results of all your efforts is periodic exceptions to the established rules.

As an example: today a serious suggestion has been made to a kitten jumping on the table, and tomorrow you are filming a video for YouTube, where tiny Cheburashka briskly climbs the tablecloth under your encouraging comments.

#14 Oriental Shorthairs do not require any special and laborious care.

Thai eared ears prefer to keep track of the cleanliness of their fur themselves, which, by the way, they are doing quite well. The owner only needs to buy a rubber mitten to clean the falling hairs from the pet's body during the seasonal molt. The same procedure can be carried out with an ordinary damp cloth: shedding wool easily adheres to damp matter. Bathing Oriental Shorthair is not recommended in principle. An exception can be made only for an animal that is too dirty or for individuals preparing for an exhibition.

#15 No more than once a week, cat’s ears are cleaned.

No special devices, except for a cotton swab and disinfectant lotion, which will just as well replace regular petroleum jelly, are not required for this procedure. Examine your pet's eyes regularly, removing accumulated dirt and mucus with a cotton pad dipped in boiled water. Ideally, Oriental Shorthairs should also brush their teeth, but in practice, few owners want to participate in this painstaking process. If for some reason you cannot process the pet's oral cavity, try to minimize the risk of plaque and tartar by buying dry food. Densely pressed "drying" croquettes do a good job of brushing your teeth and are quite capable of replacing a regular brush. For pets that eat wet canned food, you can buy special veterinary treats for plaque (sausages and bones for dogs are suitable).
