Breed Review: Shih Tzu (18 Pics)

#13 The Chinese royal family kept and bred the Shih Tzu, and when the British arrived, the breed found its way to England and then to the United States of America.

Unfortunately, the communist takeover in China wiped out most of its own supply.

No one disputes that these adorable little dogs were bred as companion dogs. Their main function from the very beginning is to be pleasant company.

#14 Shih Tzu is a small breed of dog that has one excellent guarding quality, namely, it is able to warn the owner of a threat that has arisen.

Any suspicious rustle causes an immediate reaction from the dog. But you should not expect aggression towards people from representatives of this breed, although they are cool towards outsiders and do not like familiarity.

#15 A companion dog, an ideal companion and a favorite of the whole family – this is the true purpose of the Shih Tzu.

They are so attached to all family members that they constantly strive to be close to the owners. Any trip or walk will become a pleasure for dogs of this breed, but even if they are forced to be within the walls of the apartment all day, they will not let the owner get bored, entertaining him with fun games or just being around.
