Dachshund is short, short-legged, elongated. The name comes from the German “badger dog.” This breed was used to search, chase, and corral badgers and other burrowing animals. Interestingly, although “Dachshund” is a German word, it is practically not used in Germany, being supplanted by the words Dackel and Teckel.
According to their size, dachshunds are divided into standard and miniature types. Characteristics of the Miniature Dachshund breed are indicated not only in the general classification but also in a separate classification, according to which, dogs of this type, characterized by “weighing 11 pounds, 12 months of age and older” can participate in shows. The standard weight is somewhere around 16-32 pounds.
The character is quite lively, cheerful, courageous, careful, and confident. Cheerful dog, prone to different antics. She is easily trained, loyal to her master, but wary of strangers. With their developed senses, they are not intimidated and do not refuse to work either on the ground or underground. On the street, the dachshund has dared, the energy in it is in full swing and it does not get tired; at home, she is affectionate, gentle, calm, and friendly, plays cheerfully nearby, and is wary of everything unfamiliar.
