Bavarian mountain hound. In Germany, the Czech Republic, and the Slovak Republic, apart from professional foresters and representatives of hunting supervision, few can boast of having seen this witty hunting dog sniffing out the trail of prey during work. During the hunt, they behave quite independently in relation to the owner. Since the main motto of the hunter is: Do not let the wounded prey die on its own, then when the prey is wounded and the smell of blood spreads in the air, let the dog follow its trail.

The chest is relatively broad and deep with a well-developed sternum. Ribs are oval in shape, deep and long, well-drawn back. The shoulder blades are well defined. The dorsal line rises smoothly up from the shoulder blades to the hindquarters. The back is strong and flexible. The loin is short, broad, and muscular, the croup is long and flat. The belly is well tucked up.

Bavarian mountain hounds are quiet, calm, loyal, and very strongly attached to the owner and his family. When hunting, they are assertive, focused, and tenacious. Courageous, strong in spirit, quick and agile, they feel great even in very difficult terrain, endowed with an excellent sense of smell and a powerful hunting instinct. They need an experienced and level-headed coach.

In general, they are suitable for playing with children, they are especially good for use in cold weather, not suitable for living in the city.
