Work is actively underway to decipher the genomes of various creatures, as well as cloning technologies. And now the statements of an international group of scientists headed by Professor Akira Iritani (Kyoto University) about the readiness of the revival of mammoths are already being heard.
The initial genetic material for cloning will be extracted from the remains of mammoths found in Yakutia.
It was there that very well-preserved mammoths were found in the permafrost. The nuclei of the extracted cells will noticeably penetrate into the elephant’s cells and the female elephant will also bear it. It is planned that the history of mammoths will continue in just 5-6 years.
