The Russian Toy Terrier, also known as the Russian Toy, is a very small breed of dog. Russian Toy Terriers are outwardly different from English Toy Terriers. Smooth-haired and long-haired dogs attracted the attention of the International Cynological Federation, and in 2000 these two types were combined into one breed – the Russian Toy Terrier.
The Toy Terrier breed is one of the smallest in the world. The height at the withers of adult toys ranges from 8 “(20cm) to 10” (25cm), and generally weighs less than 3-6 pounds (1.4-2.5 kg). The head of the Russian Toy Terrier is small with large round eyes and triangular ears. In countries where it is prohibited to dock the tail, it is slightly curved in the form of a “sickle”.
