Sheep (16 Pics): Care, Pros and Cons

#7 The sheep pasture should contain succulent fresh grasses.

Acidic grains (sedge, rump, etc.) are unsuitable for animal nutrition. Long-term feeding with hay from such grasses will lead to the death of young animals. Sheep have well-developed taste buds, and they quickly become bored with monotonous food.

#8 Closer to autumn, grasses coarsen, their calorie content decreases.

Then the domestic sheep are fed with oats, rye, peas, corn, alfalfa or winter wheat, mown before heading. The best feed during the stall period is silage. In terms of the number of nutrients it contains, it is second only to fresh young grass. An adult sheep needs 3-4 kg of silage.

#9 Hay is considered a universal winter food, especially that which is harvested for herbs during flowering.

Sheep happily eat hay from sainfoin, alfalfa, clover and other legumes. Animals require 2-4 kg of high-quality hay per day. They also love vegetables, melons and gourds, fruits, and even eat scraps from a person's table. Animals do not refuse from sliced beets, apples, rutabagas, corn, carrots, pumpkins, zucchini.
