Today I want to show you some recipes for Labrador Retrievers. In general, it is not difficult for a dog to cook. You just need to know what foods a dog can eat and which are strictly prohibited. Please read on how to feed your dog properly.
It is recommended to make a not too varied diet for the dog and not pamper him with new dishes every day. One has only to decide on the basic recipe for your pet, with which you will prepare the main daily dish.
For daily feeding, it is best to use ingredients such as meat, vegetables, cereals, oils, and herbs. Well, you will have to feed the dog with fish, cottage cheese, and other useful and necessary (but not for everyday feeding) products at your discretion.
Recipes for dogs can be quite varied. I would like to share some of them. Ingredients may vary depending on the season. Sometimes, I add bell pepper, replace the zucchini with pumpkin, and rice with buckwheat, and so on.
Porridge with beef heart and vegetables
This dish, which is easy to prepare, contains all the vitamins and microelements necessary for a Labrador. To prepare a treat, prepare the following ingredients according to the list:
a kilogram of beef heart;
150 grams of rice;
0.5 medium zucchini;
a pinch of greens;
a tablespoon of vegetable oil.
Boil the beef heart for an hour over low heat.
While the heart is preparing, chop the vegetables and herbs according to the recipe into small cubes. Do not grind them, as the pieces of vegetables perfectly clean your pet’s teeth.
Put the boiled heart out of the pan, then drain two-thirds of the liquid from the dishes. Mix the remaining broth with water and cook rice porridge in the diluted broth.
While the porridge is being prepared, take the boiled heart and cut it into small cubes. They should be the same size as the vegetable pieces. If you cut the heart too coarsely, the chances are that the dog will choose by-product, leaving out the vegetables.
When the rice is cooked, it needs to be mixed with the heart. When the porridge has cooled to room temperature, add vegetables and vegetable oil and stir the dish thoroughly.
Porridge with beef heart and vegetables is ready.
Porridge with beef trimmings, vegetables, and herbs
This dish is very similar to the previous one. To prepare porridge with beef trimmings you will need:
- 0.5 glass of flight;
- a kilogram of beef trimmings;
- a few pieces of pumpkin;
- fresh cucumber;
- fresh bell pepper;
- a handful of greens;
- a tablespoon of vegetable oil.
- You need to take a saucepan and boil water in it.
- As soon as the water boils, put the trimmings in it and boil it for 20 minutes.
- While the trimmings are being cooked, prepare rice porridge.
- Put the boiled trimmings in a separate saucepan. We do the same with broth.
Before feeding the dog, mixes rice, trimmings, chopped vegetables, and herbs. Before serving the pet, add a tablespoon of vegetable oil and mix everything thoroughly.
CHICKEN WITH RICE
Chicken with rice porridge is a great dish for a Labrador, but only if your pet is not allergic to chicken. To prepare a dish, take:
- boneless meat;
- small carrots.
We take all the ingredients “by eye”. First, you need to take chicken meat and boil it until tender. Simultaneously, we cook rice porridge. Cut the cooked meat into small pieces, three carrots on a coarse grater. After that, we mix all the components with the finished rice. If desired, you can add a tablespoon of sunflower oil to the dish.
VEGETABLE RAGU ON MILK
Vegetables are a must in a Labrador’s diet, but not all dogs are ready to eat fresh fruit. To make your dog happy to eat the vegetable mix, you can cook foods with goat milk, which does not cause allergies.
To get a one and a half liter pan of a dish, you need to take the following products from the list:
- 0.5 eggplant;
- a tomato;
- bell pepper;
- 0.5 apples;
- several cauliflower inflorescences;
- clove of garlic;
- 2 cups goat milk
This dish is best prepared in the vegetable season.
- Cut the vegetables and the apple into cubes.
- Place pieces of fruit in a fireproof saucepan and cover them with prescription milk.
- Simmer the stew for about 40 minutes over low heat.
We give the vegetable mix with milk to the pet chilled. This recipe can be slightly modified by taking buckwheat instead of rice.
Dogs, like humans, love a variety of treats. True, pets should not be given delicacies prepared with the addition of sugar, chocolate, and other products used in the confectionery industry. But this is not a problem, because according to very simple recipes you can prepare not only tasty but also healthy delicacies for your beloved Labrador!
Cookies and liver are ideal treats for a dog. To prepare this healthy dietary supplement, you need to take:
- 0.5 kilograms of the beef liver;
- some flour.
Put the liver, cleaned of chaff, in a blender and grind. We do the same with the apple. Three peeled carrots on a fine grater. Mix the prepared components, adding a raw egg and a little flour so that the dough is not too steep. It is optimal to replace a wheat bone meal.
Cover the baking sheet with parchment paper, on which we spread the formed cookies. Bake the delicacy for about 40 minutes until golden brown.
If you don’t have time to prepare a treat, then this is not a problem. There is an express recipe for making a healthy and tasty supplement to your Labrador’s diet.
- Take 0.5 kilograms of beef liver and boil it until tender.
- Cut the product into small cubes (side – 1 cm).
- The liver cubes are dried in the oven for about 15 minutes and then cooled.
Any, even the most delicious dish or delicacy, is given to the dog in moderation. The Labrador is a breed that is prone to obesity, and this must be taken into account when compiling a pet’s menu.
In order not to be mistaken when calculating the daily volume of natural food, take note of the information on how to properly compose the diet of a Labrador retriever. So, your pet can eat 15 grams of meat and protein food per kilogram of weight per day. Carbohydrates are taken at the rate of 5 grams per kilogram of weight, fats – 2 grams per kilogram of weight.
