Border Collies look like a lighter version of the Australian Shepherd, but instead of the typical Australian short tail (bobtail), the Border Collie has a fluffy tail that extends to the hock. She has a typical collie head, and the dog’s body is slightly longer than her height. The ears are erect, but the tips are drooping, which gives the Border Collie a lively and cheerful look.
Some border collies have rough coats about 8 cm long, while others have a smooth coat about 3 cm long. This breed has a wide variety of colors, including black and white, red and white, black and gray, all black and tricolor. Rough collies usually have a bushy mane and tail.
