The history of the breed began in the 17th century when local farmers bred a hunting dog – brave, hardy – to exterminate animals that caused damage to their farms (foxes, martens, badgers, hares, etc.) and for hunting in a flock. In addition, the compact size of these terriers allowed them to climb into burrows.

#2 This dog appeared in the nineteenth century.

#3 In those days, his main purpose was hunting.
