The Belgian Shepherd is a breed of dog. They belong to the Shepherd breeds. To Belgian shepherd dogs of the Groenendael, Laekenois, Malinois and Tervuren classes. According to the ICF classification, all these dogs are considered to be dogs of the same breed. In some countries, each of these breeds is singled out separately.
#1 The ancestors of the Belgian shepherd dogs were medieval European shepherd dogs.
#2 For the first time, individuals similar to modern Belgian Shepherds are mentioned in 1650.
#3 These were dogs of different colors, sizes and coat structures. They were united only by the ability to “group” sheep and, if necessary, to protect the wards from predators: four-legged or two-legged.
