The Bracco Italiano is a breed of dog originating from Italy, which was bred as a hunting dog for various official uses. Bracco must be athletic and strong-looking. He looks like a mixture of a German shorthair and a Bloodhound, but at the same time is completely different from their temperament. It has a drooping upper lip and long ears that give it an expression of seriousness. This dog should be almost square in shape, that is, the height at the withers should be almost the same as the length of the body. However, she should not be completely square, as this would ruin her famous ability to push off her buttocks while running, which would spare her gracefulness. The tail can be docked, mainly due to the high probability of injury in difficult terrain conditions while hunting. Although now in Italy they are working on the withdrawal of a breed with a solid tail.
A powerful, symmetrical dog with clear lines and strong muscles. The Bracco Italiano has a distinct skull, which makes the breed unique.
