Dogue de Bordeaux – well balanced, powerful, well-muscled, and short hair. The dog is slightly squat. The head is huge, massive, with numerous folds, crowned with small hanging ears. The tail is strong and thick at the base. It tapers gradually towards the end and stays low.
Dogue de Bordeaux is a born watchdog: it carries out guard duty vigilantly, with great courage and without much aggressiveness. A good companion, affectionate, and loyal to its owner. Calm, balanced, with a high response threshold. The male is usually dominant.
