Lhasa apso resembles a lion with its outlines. A long and rich coat covers the head and ears. On the tail, the hair is thicker, can reach the ground. The dog has a luxurious beard and sideburns; the feathers on the tail disintegrate in the form of a chrysanthemum. She makes an excellent family dog. Also known as the “holy dog of exorcism.”
The body is well balanced and compact, slightly longer than tall. The topline is straight. Ribs well laid back to a strong loin.
Cheerful and energetic. Attentive, firm, somewhat distrustful of strangers, loyal to the owner. Likes to bark. It makes an excellent watchdog.
