The Norwegian Elkhound is an energetic, balanced, and affectionate dog, but at the same time too independent to immediately show blind obedience, therefore, its upbringing requires a certain sensitivity. The Norwegian Elkhound is very attached to “his” family, while defending it with loud barks, but does not attack.
