Dutch Smoushond (Dutch Pied Piper) is a small stable dog from the terrier family used to exterminate rats and mice in Germany and the Netherlands. It is considered a close relative of the schnauzer. A very rare breed, widely known far beyond the borders of its native Netherlands.

The hull of a Dutch Smoushond should give the impression of being strong and resilient. The disadvantages are both the roughness of the structure of the body and the looseness. The chest is broad, moderately deep, with well-sprung ribs. The back is broad, muscular, and straight. The loin is slightly arched, the croup is muscular. The stomach is barely tucked up.

The Dutch Smoushond is a gentle, loving, cheerful, friendly companion dog. This wire-haired, lively, active, with a body of a square format dog, in the past was known as a breed of stable or “coach” dog.
