The Presa Canario Dog is a medium-sized, robustly built dog with a tough, straight coat. Massive and square head. The ears hang down naturally on either side of the head. They are set slightly above the eye line and can be cropped. The chest is wide and deep. The skin is thin and elastic. The tail, thick at the base, hangs down freely, slightly curving at the tip. Leaves the impression of a tightly built guard dog.

Dogo Canario or Perro de Presa Canario puppy

Especially suitable and traditionally used for the protection and grazing of livestock. Due to the peculiarities of this work, the dog must have strength, agility, courage, a large head, and powerful jaws. It is very obedient (when it comes to family members) and loyal to its owner, but suspicious of strangers and aggressive towards other dogs.
