Sphynx Cats

This breed of cats leaves no one indifferent. In some, it is disgusting, in someone – tenderness, but it is unlikely to leave anyone indifferent. Unique, hairless, “foldable” Sphynx cats!

  • The Canadian Sphynx is one of several hairless cat breeds that have been artificially bred for decorative purposes.
  • There are 3 breeds of hairless Sphynx cats in the world: Canadian Sphynx; Don Sphynx (or Don Bald); St. Petersburg Sphynx (or Peterbald).
  • At the moment, only Canadian sphynxes have received worldwide recognition. This is a fairly stable breed with 30 years of experience, transmitting its traits in a recessive manner.
  • Most people who have not seen the sphynx with their own eyes evaluate the appearance of the sphinxes negatively, but when they actually meet them, they change their point of view, instantly falling under the magic of these amazing creatures.
  • To the touch, their skin is similar to a peach, and there is no specific cat smell. Sphynxes always feel hot to the touch, this is due to the increased body temperature relative to humans – 38–38.5 ° С.
  • With the advent of the Canadian Sphynxes, people who are allergic to cat hair have the opportunity to have a pet.
  • Sphynxes love to sit on people’s shoulders, and also sleep under a blanket, resting their head on a pillow. They gladly meet their master.
  • Unlike other cats, sphynxes sweat all over their bodies.
  • Sphynxes are calm about the water, some of them gladly jump into the water bath to take water treatments.
  • Despite the lack of wool, sphynxes tolerate cool rooms quite well, preferring to sleep in closed and warm places in winter, and hide in the cool in summer. In the summer they love to sunbathe outdoors.
  • Due to the peculiarities of the skin, sphynxes are insensitive to various kinds of injections, easily tolerating almost any subcutaneous injections during treatment.
  • In some places, however, the skin of the sphynxes is very strong and injections through it are difficult to do, for example, at the withers. But due to the strong general mobility of the skin, it is not difficult to make an injection in the right place.
  • Due to the peculiarities of metabolism and, possibly, genetic predispositions, Sphynxes are ready to eat almost everything and in unlimited quantities. But you should not follow their lead.
  • Eat a balanced diet that includes super-premium food and natural foods.
