Once Canadian Matthew Patry went for a walk in the woods on a bicycle. On the way, he came across a cute fluffy lump, very similar to a small kitten. The usual reaction of people is either to pass by without looking or to grab the baby and take the “little kitty” home. But Matthew took a closer look at the “kitten” and realized that it was not just a cat, but a cub of a lynx. The baby had large paws, a thick short tail, and round ears.
The man did not know whether there was only one kitten here, or whether its mother was somewhere nearby, who clearly would not be happy with human intervention. Therefore, he left the cub alone.
But the man from Quebec could not help thinking about the little lynx, and therefore the next day he went to the same place.
The kid was still there, but this time it was already loudly and desperately calling for its mother, and there was no lynx nearby. This time, Patry took the apparently abandoned lynx home.
He reported the find to the zoo, so the guy was told how to look after and feed the foundling until it was provided with professional help. It turned out that the baby is smaller and weaker than it should be at this time of year.
The zoo will give the little lynx a second chance – it will be sheltered and fed, and also prepared to return to the wild. So it will be able to return home over time thanks to caring people.
