Today, pet stores offer a wide selection of ready-made food for dogs of large breeds, including Labradors. Nevertheless, many owners of dogs of this breed decide to feed their pets with natural food: cereals, meat, offal, fruits, and vegetables. Golden Retrievers are dogs that have an excellent appetite, and if you want to please your friend with delicious dishes, the recipes below will help you do it!

Croissants with Tripe

First of all, you need to make the filling for future croissants.

Ingredients:

From the offal, beef tripe is perhaps the healthiest food for dogs.
It contains the most important vitamins such as B1, B2, PP, trace elements – iron and iodine, macroelements – phosphorus, potassium, sodium, magnesium, calcium.

The protein and enzymes in the rumen are easily absorbed by dogs. Eating beef tripe has a beneficial effect on the condition of the coat, claws, and musculoskeletal system.

So, let’s prepare the filling for the croissants.

First, the beef tripe must be thoroughly rinsed and soaked in cold water for six to eight hours.

In this case, it is advisable to periodically change the water. Then rinse again and cut into strips 2 centimeters wide.

Now the filling needs to be dried. Place the strips of beef tripe on a wire rack and leave in the oven for two hours.
The temperature should be low so that the scar is not fried, but dry.

To keep the oven clean, it is best to place a baking sheet under the wire shelf
with baking paper, onto which grease will drip.

I can reassure those who are already familiar with the “flavor” of raw beef tripe and are skeptical about the idea of drying this product in the oven. The specific smell will not give you much trouble if there is an extractor hood above the stove and certainly will not settle in the oven, endowing all subsequently baked goods with exclusive amber, leading to a state of bliss, perhaps, only for dogs.
Be careful not to overdry the delicacy!

Now that the beef tripe filling is ready, you can start making the dough.

Croissant dough recipe

Remember !!

Neither salt nor sugar should be added to the dough. Too much spice can lead to a loss of your dog’s sense of smell!

Ingredients:

Wheat flour – 160 gr.
Hercules – 80g.
Egg – 1 pc.
Apple – 1 pc. (medium size)
Vegetable oil – 1.5 teaspoons
Honey – 1 teaspoon
Ground cinnamon – on the tip of a knife

Croissant dough is very similar in consistency and composition to cookie dough. Oatmeal should be slightly poured in a mortar or chopped in a blender. Finely grate the apple. Combine rolled oats and flour, add an egg, add applesauce, a pinch of ground cinnamon, a spoonful of honey, and vegetable oil.

Knead the dough. It should be pretty cool. Divide the dough into three equal parts (this will make it more convenient to keep the size of the future croissants).
Roll out the first piece of dough into a circle with a diameter of about 20 cm and to a thickness of 2-3 millimeters.

Using a pizza knife or a regular knife, cut the dough into 12 equal sectors.

Do the same for the two remaining parts of the test. Now all that remains is to put the scar filling in each of the triangles and roll it up tightly.

Attention!
Do not overdry the treat. Overdried croissants will become very hard and can harm your dog’s teeth and gums.

The delicacy we have prepared for a dog can be called croissants with a big stretch because real French croissants are made from sweet yeast dough with a large amount of oil (at least 82% fat). Such a treat will become a real poison for the dog!
Our dish, although it has only an external resemblance to real croissants, on the contrary, helps to strengthen the teeth and gums of the dog, prevents the formation of tartar, is useful for metabolism and normal functioning of the digestive tract.

The dried scar will eliminate the vitamin deficiency and normalize the microflora.
