Caring for an Airedale Terrier has a number of features that must be considered.
The Airedale has a number of advantages that are important for living in an apartment or house. Despite the developed physique and remarkable strength, these dogs are quite compact. Airedale does not shed, its coat is odorless and hypoallergenic.
However, the coat of the Airedale Terrier requires special care. And this is an important part of Airedale grooming.
It is strongly not recommended to cut the Airedale Terrier. Otherwise, the wool will lose its rigidity and will accumulate water.
About twice a year (preferably in spring and autumn), an Airedale needs trimming. Trimming an Airedale is a tricky business, so it is worth using the services of a professional groomer.
After the walk, wipe off the Airedale’s paws, belly, and bearded muzzle, as the wool collects many small twigs, leaves, and dust. If you walked on damp ground, the lower part of the pet’s body can be rinsed out of the shower. Airedale Terriers love water, so they usually don’t mind.
The dog is brushed at least twice a week.
After each feeding, wipe your face with a damp cloth, and then gently comb your mustache and beard with a brush.
An important place is occupied by the hygienic care of the Airedale.
If the claws are not grinded, they must be trimmed with a special claw cutter.
Examine the eyes and ears of the Airedale. Remove accumulated dirt from your ears once a week, and trim excess hair if necessary.
Proper care of the Airedale Terrier is unthinkable without well-organized walking. Airedale Terrier needs active walks – at least 2 hours a day.
