How to Choose a Rhodesian Ridgeback Puppy?

The Rhodesian Ridgeback is a beautiful, elegant dog. However, before stopping your choice on this breed, soberly assess your strength. Do you have enough time for long walks with your pet? Can you give it the attention it needs?

Do all of your family members agree to share a home with a fairly large dog?

Take the time to visit exhibitions and study information about the breed. Chat with breeders and other Rhodesian Ridgeback owners. Be sure to make a personal acquaintance with the parents of the planned puppy. It is worth evaluating not only the appearance of the parents but also their health (both physical and mental).

It is better to take a Rhodesian Ridgeback puppy at the age of 2 – 3 months.

The skeleton of a Rhodesian Ridgeback puppy should not be heavy, but at the same time strong, the body should be slightly stretched. Pay special attention to the ridge: if the comb is not good enough for the puppy, its flaws will only become more pronounced with age.

The puppy must be healthy. A healthy Rhodesian Ridgeback puppy has clean eyes and ears, a shiny coat, and the tummy is not swollen.

Find out which vaccinations have been made and which are still coming, and whether deworming has been performed.

Pay attention to the conditions in which the Rhodesian Ridgeback puppies are kept. The room should be clean, an unpleasant smell should alert.
