#10 Although Pembrokes are still used as working dogs, they are mostly seen as family pets these days.
They are known to be cheerful, affectionate, and intelligent, but also stubborn or sometimes freedom-loving dogs. They are easily trainable but don't expect your Pembroke to be submissive. They like to think for themselves.
#11 Although they want to please their owners, food is a fantastic motivator when training.
Proceed with caution: Pembrokes love to eat and can become overweight if their food consumption is not monitored.
#12 Pembrokes are also good watchdogs.
They can be wary of strangers and are quick to bark if they feel something or someone is threatening their home and family.
