Hyperactive Puppy Biting: How to Calm

Often, dog owners are faced with the hyperactive behavior of their pets at home, when, for example, having come from a walk, the animal begins to rush, knocking everything in its path.

Breeds such as the Jack Russell Terrier, Beagle, Labrador, and many others are prone to this behavior. No matter how hard you try to bring your four-legged friend to your senses at this moment, everything will be in vain. The dog will ignore you, and all attempts to calm the pet during this period are doomed to failure.

Hyperactive Dog Behavior

The answer to this question is pretty simple. Most likely, your pet does not lose energy during a walk, and it simply lacks the load.

What Can Be Done in This Case?

First, increase your walking time. If the dog walks 2 times a day, the walking time should be at least 60 minutes.

Secondly, we give the dog a full load – running, active games. Running next to your bike in the park is a great solution.

Thirdly, sports can be used to correct hyperactivity – for example, agility, frisbee, flyball, etc.

Another very effective way is swimming. An alternative and less costly method if your dog is a medium-sized breed is the bathroom. You can make a pool for your pet in the bathroom, but it is still better to purchase a life jacket so that the dog stays even on the water and does not choke.

Remember that before a variety of physical activities, cardiopathology must first be ruled out, since exercise is strictly prohibited with them. So before doing this or that sport, a cardiologist’s examination with echocardiography is recommended.
