Smoothie Dog Treats with Bananas and Strawberries

In summer it’s always nice to enjoy an ice cream or a milkshake to cool off. This also applies to our dogs.

There’s a delicious recipe for frozen smoothies for dogs in today’s issue of Pet Chef. It only contains ingredients that are not only safe for your four-legged friend but also totally healthy!

Frozen Smoothie for Dogs with Bananas and Strawberries

Every ingredient in this recipe is suitable for dogs and simply delicious – including us humans! If you want to have a refreshing bite with your pet, this is the perfect recipe for you.

Preparation time: 10 minutes (excluding cooling time)

Keep some of your smoothies in the fridge so you can enjoy a smoothie while your dog is enjoying his frozen treats!

Tip from the nutritionist: You can replace the strawberries with another fruit that is also suitable for dogs and that they like (e.g. watermelon, mango, or blueberries). Always be careful with the ingredients and check carefully beforehand whether they are really safe for dogs.

Easy Recipe for Frozen Smoothies for Dogs with Bananas and Strawberries

This recipe is probably the easiest to make for your dog – it only takes 5 ingredients and a few minutes.

Ingredients for a frozen smoothie for dogs with bananas and strawberries:

  • 250 g fresh strawberries;
  • 500 g low-fat natural yogurt Greek style;
  • 1 to 2 bananas;
  • 60 ml skimmed milk;
  • 3 teaspoons honey.

Directions:

  1. Put all the ingredients in a blender.
  2. Blend for about 2 minutes on a medium setting.
  3. Fill in an ice cube mold or baking mold of your choice.
  4. Freeze for at least 4 hours.

You can store these delicious treats in the freezer for up to 8 months … but we would bet that your dog will be done with them much sooner!
