Peanut Butter Banana Muffins for Dogs

If you’re looking for a delicious recipe for your dog’s birthday or any other fun celebration, you’re in luck! We have the perfect recipe for you.

In today’s issue of Pet Chef, we present you with a delicious recipe for dogs based on four main ingredients: banana, peanut butter, carrots, and honey.

Uncomplicated, Easy-to-Prepare Dog Treats

This recipe was made only with dog and human-friendly ingredients. However, if your dog is susceptible in any way (elderly, has a chronic illness, etc.), it is important to speak to a veterinarian before making any dietary changes.

Preparation time: 30 minutes

Use a pastry bag to paint fun patterns on your muffins with dog-friendly peanut butter. You can also glue small dog treats on top of the peanut butter to decorate it.

Nutritional advice: Make sure you are using dog-friendly peanut butter, i.e. free from xylitol. For smaller dogs, it’s best to cut the treat into two to four pieces and not feed them all at once. Alternatively, you can use smaller shapes than those used in the video. This is a special occasion treat and shouldn’t be fed every day.

Suitable for cats: Yes (in very small portions to avoid an upset stomach).

Recipe for Dog Muffins:

This recipe looks complicated, but it’s actually pretty easy to make, and most importantly, it’s a lot of fun!

Ingredients for peanut butter banana muffins for dogs:

  • 1 large egg
  • 1 banana
  • 80 g peanut butter
  • 110 g grated carrots
  • 80 vegetable oil
  • 85 g honey
  • 120 g whole wheat flour
  • 35 g of oatmeal
  • 1 g baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • creamy peanut butter (for the icing)

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 ° C
  2. Place the muffin cups in the baking tray
  3. Put the egg, banana, carrots, peanut butter, oil, honey, and vanilla extract in a large bowl and mix all the ingredients together
  4. In another bowl, add the flour, baking powder, and oatmeal
  5. Combine both bowls into one and mix everything together
  6. Fill the muffin tin about 2/3 full
  7. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes at 180 ° C

A little tip: to know when the muffins are ready, prickle the middle with a knife. If the knife comes out clean, the muffins are done. If you want to add some icing, you can use pet-friendly peanut butter.

You can store these goodies in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week or two. If they are kept for a long time, they may go moldy. So you and your dog (… and your friends) should better start munching!
